Day 2 and Moving Forward

Day 2, Tuesday, June 7, 2015

Not really such a good day, overall.

i got up with Mike, and he left around 6:00. I thought Livvy was coming to clean at 8:00 AM, so I went ahead and got dressed early, and didn’t go back to bed for a nap. Failure #1 today -- no nap.

Anyway, turns out, Livvy cancelled, since they’re moving Saturday and she has lots to do. By then, I decided to just try to get some stuff done, so I attacked a couple of emails I had been putting off:  one was to the head of our HR department about my leave time, and one was to my boss about using my PTO hours. I also got hold of someone who could tell me the new location and new time of the Climb exercise program for Parkinsons patients. Turns out, it’s today at 4:00, Thursday at 2:00, and Saturday at 10:45.

While I was writing emails, I drank a cup of my new Nescafe instant coffee, and I really liked it! It was even caffeinated and didn’t bother me too much. At $1,34 for 6 cups, it’s cheaper and just as good as some of those silly K-cups! Okay, my coffee-purist inner self is yelling at me right now. I can’t help it -- I really did like that cup of coffee….

Anyhow, after that, I put a load of towels in the washer. They were the ones I got from Mamaw’s apartment, and when I fold them, I’ll decide which to keep and which to give to Goodwill. I got them dried, but unfortunately, not folded. Failure #2 today -- laundry not folded.

Next was kitchen time -- I did a bunch of stuff.  Cleaned out frig since tomorrow is trash day; defrosted, diced and cooked 2 chicken breasts; cleaned, chopped, and sauteed a pound of asparagus, as well as a half pint of mushrooms; and grated some extra cheese to make sure I had enough. Decided to make a casserole for dinner and use up leftover rice, so I did all the prep work, knowing it will be easier after exercise class. I’m always zapped after exercise. I also unloaded the dishwasher and reloaded it.

The whole “no nap” thing was starting to wear on me, so I decided to rest in Mike’s chair for a while. I kept dozing, but my heart was missing beats, and woke me up. It settled down after a couple of minutes, but I kept waking up in a panic for some reason. So...still no nap. I decided it was time to get up anyway. Failure #3 today -- no nap again.

It takes 30 minutes to get to exercise class, so at 2:30, i decided I better start getting ready; put on make-up, changed shoes, changed clothes, brushed hair...almost ready. I had talked to Mike earlier in the day, and he was going to meet me there for moral support, Of course, just as I was leaving, it started to pour down rain!

I was a little late, but Mike got there before me, and scoped it all out. It’s on an absolutely huge campus, and it took him a few minutes to find the right entrance. He’s such a sweetheart -- not only did he scope it out for me, but he waited under the carport and parked my car for me when i got there.

I went to check in and learned that next time I come (Thursday), I will have to pay an annual facility fee of $70, on TOP OF the $5 weekly class fee. Unbelievable! It’s so darn expensive to be unwell!

Well, the workout was my main success today. It was an extensive workout, beginning and ending with stretches, and building to a little cardio in the middle, as well as some balance and breathing exercises. I’m proud of myself that I went and accomplished something good!

Mike gave me the good car to take home, while he put gas in the Stratus for tomorrow.

When I got home, I put together the casserole I had started earlier and Mike loved it. Cleaned up and stopped for the night. I’m beat.

Goodnight.
